There were two reasons. I had recently become an entrepreneur and found the power of the internet irresistible. I’m also the creative type so I loved the idea of coming up with app ideas and actually being able to make them.
Treehouse was definitely huge accelerator in my development.
What work were you doing when you first joined Treehouse & what encouraged you to learn with us?

You just landed a job as a software engineer. Tell us a little bit about how your career has evolved since learning with Treehouse.
Well, my career really hadn't even started yet since I’m still in college, this was kind of a surprise and Treehouse was definitely huge accelerator in my development.
What has the value of a Treehouse education meant to you?
Treehouse really sped up my learning process simply by making great content and videos. The community aspect of Treehouse has also been especially important to me because I did not know a single person who knew how to code, so seeing and talking to other people going through the same problems as me helped a lot.
What are your plans for the future, and what’s up next on your learning path?
My plan for the future is to create my own company. I really love my new job and it has even made me question if I want to be an entrepreneur, but I know I want to start something special for myself.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with new students who are aspiring web developers?
My biggest advice is work really hard on improving your skills and don't get discouraged if you get frustrated. Soon you will start learning things faster and start solving problems faster. When you start looking for a job be relentless, if you’re having a hard time don't give up as it can be tough at first. My boss told me I got the job because I told him I was ready to learn and work hard.
