Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

"`add` returned the wrong results.": why does my code show this error?

please help me get through this error?

def add(salary , travel_money):
    float(salary + travel_money)
    return(salary + travel_money)

That means the challenge tried running your function on some test arguments and what it returned was not the correct value. Here's some hints to help it work:

  • for float to be effective, it must be applied directly to one term
  • perform math after conversions
  • be sure to save the results of the math in a variable to avoid doing it over
  • return the stored result (or return the calculation instead of storing)
