Bummer! There was an error with your code: TypeError: 'null' is not an object (evaluating 'answer.toUpperCase')

This code works. Why am i getting this message?

app.js
var answer = prompt("What is the best programming language?");
if (answer.toUpperCase() == "JAVASCRIPT") {
   alert("You are correct")
}
index.html

</head>
<body>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

While your method is correct, the challenge wants you to check if the answer is equal to "JavaScript" and not "JAVASCRIPT", so you need to do remove the .toUpperCase() method and replace the "JAVASCRIPT" to "JavaScript". Also it would be a good idea to use "===" instead of "==" to compare, like so:

var answer = prompt("What is the best programming language?");
if (answer == "JavaScript") { //if the answer is equal to the string "JavaScript"
  alert("You are correct");
}

Hope that helps!!
