i have different methods and it keeps saying its not correct, i'm confused.

231,248 PointsThe function name should be "getElementById" (with an "n" and just one "m"). And by itself, the selector function accesses the element; but the challenge wants you to get the value associated with that element.

getElementByIdis a selector function that selects the element that you supply as the argument. This alone doesn't do any more than simply select/reference it, you therefore need to use a property to get the value of that element. Which you can do so by using and chaining.valueat the end of the statement.
