Python Python Collections (Retired) Dictionaries String Formatting with Dictionaries

** must be mapping, not list error

The string used before the defined function must be filled in by members of the dictionary further above. These two need to be used to create a list with the string already filled in by the values of the dictionary. By example on the video it seems like using **my_dict should work.

strings.py
dicts = [
    {'name': 'Michelangelo',
     'food': 'PIZZA'},
    {'name': 'Garfield',
     'food': 'lasanga'},
    {'name': 'Walter',
     'food': 'pancakes'},
    {'name': 'Galactus',
     'food': 'worlds'}
]

string = "Hi, I'm {name} and I love to eat {food}!"

def string_factory(my_string, my_dict):
    my_list = []
    for x in my_string:
        my_list.append(x.format(**my_dict))
    return my_list

Here is your corrected code

def string_factory(my_dict, my_string): # <-- list of dict is first parameter
    my_list = []
    for x in my_dict: # <-- loop through list of dicts
        my_list.append(my_string.format(**x))  # <-- format using dict contents
    return my_list
