; question about this

var temperatures = [100,90,99,80,70,65,30,10];

for (var i = 0; i < temperatures.length; i += 1) { console.log(temperatures[i]);

}

Why is this correct but this

var temperatures = [100,90,99,80,70,65,30,10];

for (var i = 0; i < temperatures.length; i += 1;) { console.log(temperatures[i]);

}

Is not correct...The ; after i +=1;

Inside the "for" expression, the semicolons are separators between clauses, not delimiters. Adding an extra semicolon implies that there is a 4th clause, which is not proper syntax.
