1,052 PointsSlices.py challenge.. Does anyone know how to do this?
The question reads:
Challenge Task 1 of 3
Let's get in some slice practice! Create a new variable named slice1 that has the second, third, and fourth items from favorite_things.
favorite_things = ['raindrops on roses', 'whiskers on kittens', 'bright copper kettles',
'warm woolen mittens', 'bright paper packages tied up with string',
'cream colored ponies', 'crisp apple strudels']
slice1 = favorite_things[:]
slice1[2:5]

Treehouse TeacherHi there, Darren! igorevi is correct, you created a copy of favorite_things and assigned it to slice1
. Also, you need to store the results of your slice
somewhere. Slice by itself does not change the original list. Finally, the slice you would be getting in the last line isn't what they're asking for. Remember that lists are 0 indexed. It wants the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th items. Your slice would return the 3rd, 4th, and 5th items.
Here was my solution:
slice1 = favorite_things[1:4] #starting at the second item of favorite_things and going up to the 5th item
Hope this helps!
