What I'm a doing wrong

The problem is this line:

number = gets.chomp.to_i

The challenge does not ask you to prompt for input, and since that is not part of the challenge the code checker is not designed to handle suddenly being prompted for it. Hence the solution is marked as wrong.

If you remove that line then the code will pass the challenge.

As Andren said. The number = gets.chomp.to_i line is interfering with the assigned challenge and removing it will resolve the error. If this was helpful give us a best answer check mark.
