A question for wordpress developers!

I am looking to work on some freelance web design/dev projects (using wordpress as my CMS).

Generally speaking, whenever you begin to create a website using wordpress, do you start using by using a theme framework or by modifying an existing free/premium theme to fit a design?

What i do is well, there are few way to do it.

I prefer to code it up iwth HTML and CSS + JS , and when it looks good and all ready, i put it into wordpress bu just coding up the loops and all that, its dead simple .

Or either use underscores .

And i havent do e-commerce sites so i cnat tell.

But one way would be to buy some template for like 5 pounds and then just customise it, will save lots of time, and implement the right features in WP .

Daniel it really depends on what the client needs and the budget.

Making a theme from scratch it is time consuming, which translate in more money to be paid. But then again, what your client needs? Does it really needs a theme build from scratch? Is there a Theme that fits the requirements? You should take all those considerations when talking to a client.

The steps I follow to create a plain HTML site or Wordpress theme are simple: Design in AI and Photoshop, create HTML and CSS, add JS/Jquery, and put it into wordpress if needed.
