You just need to assign buttons id in .html file to the button variable in .js file

const warning = document.getElementById("warning");
let button = document.getElementById("makeItRed");

Hi there, Dominic! The challenge is wanting you to use the addEventListener() method. It looks like you're familiar with jQuery, but I don't believe they're using that framework here. If you'll look, you've already set up your button variable to hold the element it wants the event listener on. The addEventListener method takes two parameters: the event to be listened for, and a function.

Give it another try with these hints in mind, but let me know if you're still stuck! :sparkles:
