Whenever you use a format specifier, e.g. %f, you need to include a variable or value to be placed in the format specifier. In your example the format specifier is used to hold the radius variable, so you need to include that variable after the closing quote. Just as a note you will need one value or variable for each format specifier in your printf statement.
float radius = 14.5;
printf("%f A ball with a radius of 14.5 inches", radius);

So the format specifier should go in place of the 14.5
This output is going to look like: 14.5 A ball with a radius of 14.5 inches
It seems to pass with or without a period at the end of the sentence.
