method); please remove it. It should look like this:
$.get("footer.html", function (response){
});

15,059 PointsIt works just fine the way you did it the first time. In fact it is the "idiomatic" way to do it. Using anonymous functions is very common usage pattern for registering event handlers in JS. Just look at my response below.
