JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Storing and Tracking Information with Variables Using String Methods

adding variables i am having a hard time using methods and adding variables together

var id = "23188xtr"; var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase(); userName += '#'; userName += lastName.toUpperCase;

This is what i have

var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase();
userName += '#'
userName += lastName.toUpperCase;

The question doesn't want the ID in upper case (If I remember correctly, just the lastName)

and you have forgotten the () after the toUpperCase on the last line.

yea thanks, all i need was to add () and it passed.
