After you turn the line into an arrow, how do you select the actual arrow? (I changed from line to V tool.)

I did all the steps in the video, but once she changes to the V tool she gets a box around the arrow created with the line too. I can't seem to get that box/highlight just the arrow to then duplicate it and reflect it. I managed to get the same look with the line tool and just doing the same thing on the other side and rotating them, but I would like to know how to select the actual arrow we created. Thanks!
