Alternative version of Android Studio, BETA or STABLE?

Hi , I have been doing the Build a Simple Android app and I have been using the Android Studio version that was prescribed in the notes. However, I am having some weird problems with it so I decided to just use the current version of Android Studio that we have; I know it will be different but i guess i may need to spend some extra time in figuring where things are.

Having said this, which version would you recommend I use? Current BETA version of current STABLE version?

Many thanks in advance!

Go with the STABLE branch, the beta is prone to crashing and is for advanced development.
