Android Data Persistence with Ribbit Application?

I wanted to add on to the Ribbit app and make Memes. I saw there is a course called Android Data Persistence that teaches you how to do this. How can I make it so that I can add Memes to the Ribbit App (Build a self-destructing messaging app) instead of having it be a separate application?
