Android Development native or react-native?

Hi,

I have been learning JavaScript for quite some time now. Even though I have been enjoying the language, I have no interest in becoming an all round web developer. I have always just wanted to create phenomenal, creative and simple apps that solve complex problems and being of value to the end consumer.

Thus why I followed the crowd and jumped in the JavaScript bandwagon as everyone these days is learning JavaScript. My question is, is react-native the future of mobile app development (particular android) or will native mobile app development survive or even out live the web? Which is the more viable option moving forward? Should I go native or learn JavaScript and then react-native?

Do let hear your opinions.

Kind regards
