You nearly had it, basically you have already called the p using the newParagraph variable, instead of the p on the appendChild you need the variable like this

const contentDiv = document.getElementById("content");
let newParagraph = document.createElement('p');
newParagraph.className = 'panel';
contentDiv.appendChild(newParagraph);
