As I type the string conditions the console it gives me a syntax error message. What do I do?

Looking for feedback on how to resolve the syntax error.

Please post your code :)

Without your code it is hard to tell. However, it is likely that you forgot to end a line with a semicolon, forget a parenthesis, forgot a comma, etc.

It will be twice as easy to look at your code then to list out all the possibilities :smile:

Check if each student has a GPA of 4.0. If the student has a GPA of 4.0, use the student's name variable to display "NAME made the Honor Roll". If not, use the variable to display "NAME has a GPA of GPA".

<?php
$studentOneName = 'Dave';
$studentOneGPA = 3.8;

$studentTwoName = 'Treasure';
$studentTwoGPA = 4.0;

//Place your code below this comment
if ($studentOneGPA >= 4.0){
  echo "$studentOneName made the Honor Roll";
}
else{
  echo "$studentOneName has a GPA of $studentOneGPA";
}
if ($studentTwoGPA >= 4.0){
  echo "$studentTwoName made the Honor Roll";
}
else{
  echo "$studentTwoName has a GPA of $studentTwoGPA";
}
?>

Added some markdown so we can see the code better :sparkles:

Hmm... I don't seem to see where your error is. Tagging Jennifer Nordell

Hi there! Oh wow you're sooooo close on this one. And to be fair, in this particular example your code would output the same results. However, take a look at the Bummer! message.

. Bummer! You need to check that $studentOneGPA is equal to 4.0

You're not fulfilling the specific requirements of the challenge. The challenge requires that you check to see if it is equal to 4.0... not greater than or equal to. If I change your >= to == , your code passes!

Hope this helps! :sparkles:

Nice :)
