background color problem

When i add the padding I lose the background color???

a { text-decoration:none; }

wrapper {

max-width: 940px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0 5%: background: orange; }

The padding line in your CSS needs to end with a semi-colon, not a colon as you have it. It should look like this:

padding: 0 5%;

That will fix your code.
