13,809 PointsBenchmarker Class Task - Syntax Error
I keep getting this error when trying to submit my code: SyntaxError: eca5dda5-cd7f-4323-97ce-e5a88aaaf7ab.rb:33: syntax error, unexpected keyword_end, expecting end-of-input
But, I can't see what I have done wrong. Not sure if it's a bug, or if it's my error, could someone point it out to me?
Many thanks!
class SimpleBenchmarker
def run(description, &block)
start_time = Time.now
block.call
end_time = Time.now
elapsed = end_time - start_time
puts "\n#{description} results"
puts "Elapsed time: #{elapsed} seconds"
end
end
benchmarker = SimpleBenchmarker.new
benchmarker.run "description" do
end
end

32,867 PointsHi Mile,
You are pretty close. You want to put the description string inside parentheses, and some block of code between the do and end. You also have an extra end at the end of your code. e.g.
class SimpleBenchmarker
def run(description, &block)
start_time = Time.now
block.call
end_time = Time.now
elapsed = end_time - start_time
puts "\n#{description} results"
puts "Elapsed time: #{elapsed} seconds"
end
end
benchmarker = SimpleBenchmarker.new
benchmarker.run("description") do
puts "All done!"
end
