toggleList.addEventListener('click', () => { if (listDiv.style.display == 'none'){ toggleList.textContent = 'Hide list'; listDiv.style.display = 'block'; } else { toggleList.textContent = 'Show list'; listDiv.style.display = 'none'; } });
button.addEventListener('click' ,() => { p.innerHTML = input.value + ':'; });
for this code how would i know that 'none' and 'block' would hide the list? is there any other documentation i can find on things similiar to this?

231,248 PointsI'm sure this was covered in the course (or a prerequisite), but I can't give you a specific reference offhand.
My favorite go-to resource for all things front-end is MDN, but in this case the page for the CSS display property might be more confusing than helpful.
But the use of it to remove items from the layout is discussed here on the page for visibility.
