"Break" challenge task

I need you to help me finish my loopy function. Inside of the function, I need a for loop that prints each thing in items. But, if the current thing is the string "STOP", break the loop.

def loopy(items):
    # Code goes here

    while items.upper() != "STOP":
        for i in items:
            print(i)

I keep getting name error: loopy not defined

Hi Kevin,

You want to loop through items first, then check to see if the item is "STOP". e.g.

def loopy(items):
    # Code goes here
    for item in items:
      if item == "STOP":
        break
      print(item)

It doesn't specify case sensitivity in the challenge, but you could do:

def loopy(items):
    # Code goes here
    for item in items:
      if item.upper() == "STOP":
        break
      print(item)

Since items is a list, 

items.upper() != "STOP"

will always return true. edit: actually will throw a syntax error because upper cannot be called on a list.
