Python Python Basics (2015) Shopping List App Break

break outside loop

I have run the first example but am really stuck on adding the break - how do you add the break??

breaks.py
def loopy(items):
    for item in items:
        print(item)
if item == str("STOP"):
    break

Hi David,

You need to place the if statement before the print(item). Here is the code I used to pass this challenge:

def loopy(items):
    # Code goes here
    for item in items:
        if item == "STOP":
            break
        print(item)
