The problem lies in the condition of your if condition.

You can retrieve an element by using the square brackets []

So, to fix your condition, you have to use the brackets.

def loopy(items):
    for item in items:
        if item[0] == 'a':
            continue
        else:
            print(item)

Also, it's best to name the temporary variable (in my code it's called item) a singular name. (No S at the end of the variable name. We don't want a single value be called a plural name!)
