HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Build the Footer

By mistake in the code syntax I wrote , instead of <li></li> , I wrote <lil></lil> and it works perfectly. Why?

Is this normal? I've already corrected it in my code, but I want to know if both ways are correct?

It's technically wrong, but the browser is smart enough to correct it for you!!! You should right it in the right way to prevent the unexpected result.
