Can I do this with index?

I thought it could work, but don't know what to put in index().

strlen.py
def just_right(str):
    if str.index( ) < 4:
        return("Your string is too short")
    elif str.index( ) > 4:
        return("Your string is too long")
    else:
        return True

str.index(str[-1])

I think that this is what you are looking for. The following code would be a better way of doing it, though.

def just_right(str):
    if len(str) < 4:
        return("Your string is too short")
    elif len(str) > 4:
        return("Your string is too long")
    else:
        return True
