Your code is pretty much correct, the issue is that you have a typo in your last call to toUpperCase. you spell it as toUppercase (lowercase c) since JavaScript is case-sensitive it doesn't consider toUpperCase and toUppercase as the same name.

If you fix that typo like this:

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase();
userName += "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();

Then your code will pass, though it's also worth mentioning that you can condense the last two lines of your code into one like this:

var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";

var userName = id.toUpperCase() + "#" + lastName.toUpperCase();

That results in the same string but is a bit more concise.
