Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Raise an Exception

can someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    if product_idea <= str(3):
        raise ValueError ('has to be more than 3 characters long')
    return product_idea + "inator"
