Hey Troy! Yes you can document.write a variable, however you would not do it like you have done. It seems that you are trying to store the value document.write in the varaible answer. This is not what the challenge wants you to do. Instead it wants you to document.write whatever is already stored in the variable answer. Your code should look like this:

document.write(answer)

Thanks Behar I see where I made my error I used quotes around the "answer" and you didn't I like getting your replies because you seem to be right on point

Glad to help Troy! You can mark the question as "solved" by sellecting a "best answer".

var answer user = prompt("What day is it?") answer = prompt("What day is it?") document.write(answer)

I get an error message that reads looks like you put the document.write() in the wrong place what do you think ?

Hey again Troy! The problem lies in your first line of code, you should not be saying:

var answer user = prompt("What day is it?")

instead just write:

var answer = prompt("What day is it?");

Your final code should look like this:

var answer;
answer = prompt("What day is it?");
document.write(answer)
