Cannot debug Error

seems to give correct output as per my understanding and the test cases I ran

wordcount.py 
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(input):
    words = input.lower().split(" ")
    ma = {}
    for word in words:
        if(word in ma.keys()):
            ma[word] +=1
        else:
            ma.update({word : 1})
    return ma

The code needs to split on whitespace not just spaces. This is the default if you do not give an argument to the split() method.

Whitespace includes tabs.
