I think it is a bit simpler than what you've done.
When using a foreach to iterate through an array, it is possible get both the key and the value at the same time. It looks like this:
<?php
foreach ($array as $key => $value) {
echo $key; // This will echo the key of each array item
echo $value; // This will echo the value of each array item
}
http://php.net/manual/en/control-structures.foreach.php
Try adjusting your foreach statement to be foreach ($books as $isbn => $book). When I did that in the challenge it accepted the answer.
