Cant find the error in the test with slices

Need help, can't find the error. List returns first 4 and last 4 items in one list.

slices.py 
def first_4(iter):
    return iter[0:4]

def first_and_last(iter):
    first4 = iter[0:4]
    last4 = iter[-1:-5:-1]
    last4.sort()
    total = first4 + last4
    return total

Found it. It was a bad named function
