Cant get AVD to launch. Help?

Hi. I am trying to get the AVD to launch in Android Studio. When I try it from the 3 dots on the launch emulator, it just says Gradle build finished in 5 secs. But it's been saying that forever now. Can anyone help. I cant launch it from the alternative icon on the tool bar at the top at all. Thanks.
