Python Python Basics (2015) Python for Beginners Create a variable

Can't get syntax correct. I have tried `name = "ted"`. But that doesn't seem to work.

Would love to understand the needed syntax for this challenge.

variable.py
'name = "ted"'

Hi Ted,

Have you surrounded your code with inverted commas like 'this'? You shouldn't have.

I'll try the challenge in a second but I think it should just be name = "ted" - you do need to wrap your string in quotes, though!

Steve.

Yep - checked that; it should work for you just fine.

Steve.

Hey thanks for the response. Got it working.

Ted

Glad you got it sorted. :+1:
