Can't handle the challenge

I don't know, why I get the bummer: There was a syntax error!

script.js
function max(first, second) {
  var larger;
  if() {
   first > second;
   larger = first;
  } else {
    larger = second;
  } return larger;
}
max(3,4);

Hi I cant see a condition in your if statement this may be causing the issue.

Hi, you need to add a condition inside if(), I think you moved it one line down, it should look like this:

 // check if first is bigger than second
if ( first > second ) {
 // add your code here
}
