Ruby Installing a Ruby Development Environment Installing a Ruby Development Environment Installing Ruby on Mac

Can't Install rbenv…or anything else.

I'm trying to perform the first task of the rbenv installation on a mac, and when I copy/paste:

git clone https://github.com/sstephenson/rbenv.git ~/.rbenv

I get back:

~$ git clone https://github.com/sstephenson/rbenv.git ~/.rbenv Illegal instruction: 4

Also, incase it's of any use, this is what is returned for the version of ruby that is already installed on my machine:

~ $ ruby -v ruby 1.8.7 (2012-02-08 patchlevel 358) [universal-darwin11.0]

Thanks in advance!

Install Homebrew

then in the terminal write:

$ brew update
$ brew install rbenv ruby-build

Success! Thank you, Roberto.
