Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 15,552 PointsCant seem to select links in Nav tag using "getElementsByTagName" or "querySelectorAll".
I am not able to understand why am i not able to pass this quiz. I have used the method : document.getElementsByTagName('li')[0,1,2]; as it only wants the first three links in the 'nav' tag. This does not seem to work.
I tried using "querySelector('li')[0,1,2]", but this also does not work.
Am i using the correct CSS selector at the end of the code.
Thanks
let navigationLinks = document.getElementsByTagName('li');

31,093 PointsTry this:
let navigationLinks = document.querySelectorAll('nav a');
Just replace getElementsByTagName with querySelectorAll. Then with the (' '), replace 'li' with 'nav a'.
If it makes you feel better, I had trouble with this too.

Full Stack JavaScript Techdegree Student 15,552 PointsHi Robbie it did work but i did not follow the logic i understand that we used "document.querySelectorAll" but how did "('nav a')" work shouldn't it be ('nav : a')?
Thanks
Robbie Thomas
31,093 PointsThat ":" in the (nav a) wouldn't work. With css files, you do need that ":"
example:
.nav a: {
color: "orange"
}
But when it comes to those JavaScript selectors, that ":" is not needed and will cause an error.
