Hey there! There is not a problem with the max-width but instead, the selector. You added a space between the hash and the id of your div. It should be:

a {
  text-decoration: none
}
 #wrapper {
    max-width: 940px;
    margin: 0 auto;
 }

There is no problem with you css.. You left space between the hash and the wrapper. It should be like this

#wrapper {
    max-width: 940px;
    margin: 0 auto;
 }
