challange task 3 of 3, how do i proceed now?

how should i solve this? Challenge Task 3 of 3

Alright, let's finish making our menu. Combine the sundaes list into a new variable named display_menu, where each item in the list is rejoined together by a comma and a space (", "). Then reassign the menu variable to use the existing variable and .format() to replace the placeholder with the new string in display_menu. If you're really brave, you can even accomplish this all on the same line where menu is currently being set.

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes = available.split(';')
menu = "our available flavors are : {}".format("; ".join(sundaes))

You are almost done with this challenge, but you are formatting with a '; ' not a comma ', '. I tried doing it all in one line too, but although the output was correct it wouldn't pass me. I broke it up into pieces as follows. first Combine the sundaes list into a new variable named display_menu where each item in the list is rejoined together by a comma and a space (", ").

display_menu = ", ".join(sundaes)

Then reassign the menu variable to use the existing variable and .format() to replace the placeholder with the new string in display_menu.

menu = menu.format(display_menu)

Let me know if something doesn't make sense

thanks, could you tell single line code which is giving the correct output

This was the line I tried, but didn't work for me: available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white" sundaes = available.split(";") menu = "Our available flavors are: {}." display_menu = menu.format(", ".join(sundaes))

print(display_menu)
