$flavor = "cherry";
echo "<p>Your favorite flavor of ice cream is ";
echo $flavor;
echo ".</p>";
echo "<p>Randy's favorite flavor is cookie dough";

While your code works, it doesnt do what the challenge was asking for. the challenge states: Add a conditional around that final echo command that checks if the flavor variable has a value of "cookie dough." you did not do that. you just need to wrap the original echo statement in an if, dont split the statement like you did. you must follow the directions very carefully

<?php
$flavor = "cherry";
echo "<p>Your favorite flavor of ice cream is ";
echo $flavor;
echo ".</p>";
if ($flavor == "cookie dough") {
echo "<p>Randy's favorite flavor is cookie dough, also!</p>";
 }

?>

Thanks Stone, now I understand. I have to wrap the entire text in the if statement. Not just add a part of the text to the end.
