challenge task 1 Initialize the member variable..

I've entered:

   Button mExterminateButton = findViewById(R.id.button1);

As my member variable for task 1. Anyone care to show me what I'm doing wrong?

You did not cast your view, as it reminds you in the description :)

You should have the following:

protected Button mExterminateButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.button1)
