Ruby Ruby Booleans Build a Simple Todo List Program Finding Array Items

Challenge task 1 of 1

Fill in the find_index method to return the index of a todo item in the @todo_items array given the name. The method should return the index of the item if the item is found and nil if it is not found

my code looks correct to me.

todo_list.rb
class TodoList
  attr_reader :name, :todo_items

  def initialize(name)
    @name = name
    @todo_items = []
  end

  def add_item(name)
    todo_items.push(TodoItem.new(name))
  end

 @todo_items.each do |todo_item|
      if todo_item.name == name
        found = true
        return todo_item
      end
      if found
        break
      else
        return nil
      end
    end

Zachary, I don't see the find_index method in your code.

Here is the code you're looking for:

def find_index(name)
  index = 0
  found = false
  todo_items.each do |todo_items|
    if todo_items.name == name
      found = true
      break
    else
      index += 1
    end
  end

  if found
    return index
  else
    return nil
  end
end
