5,096 Pointsclass named Player that has those same three attributes, last_name, first_name, and score. I should be able to set them
not sure why my code isn't working, when I run it in workspace I get the results as follows:
import re
class Player:
string = '''Love, Kenneth: 20
Chalkley, Andrew: 25
McFarland, Dave: 10
Kesten, Joy: 22
Stewart Pinchback, Pinckney Benton: 18'''
players = re.compile(r'''
(?P<last_name>[\w]+\s?[\w]*),*\s*
(?P<first_name>[\w]*\s?[\w]+):\s*
(?P<score>\d{2})
''', re.M|re.X)
for match in players.finditer(Player):
print('<{last_name}> <{first_name}> <{score}>'.format(**match.groupdict()))

Treehouse Moderator 68,457 PointsHey Cory Rhodes, the challenge is a bit misleading. For Task 2 the class defined does not have any regex associated with it. The class definition only needs the __init__
method necessary to instantiate the three attributes.
Youβre to imagine there is some other code that will use the players
results to create instances of your class. There isnβt a need for your code to create the instances from the players
data.
Be sure to use search
instead of compile
and include the string
argument.
Post back if you need more help. Good luck!!!
