I was told to "Use the JavaScript .toUpperCase( ) string method to assign an all uppercase version of the id variable to the userName variable"
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var UserName="id "+"lastName";
var userName.toUpperCase();

14,454 PointsYou made two minor mistakes. First, you have declared id and lastName as variables. However, when declaring Username, you pass them in as strings. You want to refer to the variable names here, and leave out the quotation marks. Second, on your fourth line there is no need to declare Username again with the var keyword, as you already did that on the line before. Also, make sure to stick with either username or Username; capitals matter. This code will work:
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var UserName= id + lastName;
Username = UserName.toUpperCase();
