2,303 PointsCode Challenge: __init__
Hi team!
I'd like to be able to set the name attribute at the same time that I create an instance. Remember, will need to override the init method. Please assist
class Student:
name = "Your Name"
def __init__(self, name):
self.name = name
setattr(self, name)
def praise(self):
return "You inspire me, {}".format(self.name)
def reassurance(self):
return "Chin up, {}. You'll get it next time!".format(self.name)
def feedback(self, grade):
if grade > 50:
return self.praise()
return self.reassurance()

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I GET ANYTHING WRONG
So for the first one, it's pretty simple. it wants you to initialize an attribute.
def __init__(self, name):
self.name = name
I got stuck on the 2nd one too but, I managed to pass it. So it wants you to use ** kwargs and setattr to add attributes for any other key/value pairs you........ etc.
def __init__(self, name, **kwargs):
self.name = name
for values, keys in kwargs.items():
setattr(self, values, keys)
The word "self" is used to represent the instance of a class. it's pretty self-explanatory. to be honest. check this link out if you want to learn more about setattr.
