code challenge on word count

am getting an error on this code cant figure out where am getting it wrong

wordcount.py 
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(str):
    str = str.lower()
    word_dict = dict()
    words = str.split()

    for word in words:
        word_dict[word] = words.count[word]

    return word_dict

count() is a built-in method and it is not subscriptable as the python shells throws out it in the error message. So, please try replacing the square brackets with parantheses:

for word in words:
        word_dict[word] = words.count(word)

Then it should work.
