Code missing from link.

Am trying to add the code for the cart link in the footer. However, when I go to the listed link the code is missing from the link. Does anyone have the complete code so that I can finish this step?

Don't know why it is missing from the linked page. The title is the same, but there is not code on the page. Seems woo commerce may have a problem.

Never mind. I managed to puzzle it together from another frame later in the course. However, WooCommerce needs to fix the link or Treehouse needs to make the code available without having to go to the link.

Yeah, I have the same problem. The source code looks like it is linking to a gist so the up-to-date browsers might be blocking the script from running for some reason. I tried in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and even IE (yes, I got desperate!) but exactly the same thing happened in all of the browsers. You can, as you say, just type out the code from the video extract but its not ideal. Doubt Treehouse will fix as they're ditching the course at the end of November anyway.

James Pask. Thanks for your input. How did you find out they're ditching the course. I'd like to be in the loop, too. Seems like many people know when courses are going to be removed or replaced, but I obviously don't know the secret, or am not a part of the club, lol.

@S Anada I guess its because I'm still working my way through it and they wanted to ensure that I finish it before the end of the month. I'm finding it quite hard going and it's not too easy to follow. Most of it is too fast paced and, because he knows where the code is coming from, Zac darts around the screens and its difficult to keep up with him.

The code works great on the finished example but it doesn't seem that easily transferable over to other sites. It'd be great if there were some snippets of code that we could use in a repository to remove certain parts of an individual product page or display them in a different place. I'm not really sure why WooCommerce even use the data tables on the product pages.. surely it'd make more sense for users to be able to simply pick where the code appears on the page and make it more drag-and-drop.

Anyway, on with the course.. end of the month is vast approaching!

OK, so they contacted you. I think with all these courses you have to just get the feel for what they are doing. Know what you can do and how to look it up when you want to do it again. You'll never memorize everything and even if you do, they'll change the way it's done and you'll have to relearn all over.

A friend that works in the industry told me those sage words. That you need to know where to find what it is that you want to do. You might want to look into an app called Dash (I pretty sure, it's on my other computer). It has many resources for all the main languages and you can add your own, so that you don't have to go all over the place finding them. Plus they are searchable. So if you need to remember how to do a certain thing in WP you just put in some key words. It searches the resources you have saved and gives you the pages that talk about whatever it is you need info on. Pretty great app. You can try it for free and then if you like it buy it for not too much money. I'm still using the free version, but will buy it soon as I'm able.
