can anybody please help me and tell me what is the error in my code or what modification needed. error is given below "Bummer! Hmm, didn't get the expected output. Be sure you're lowercasing the string and splitting on all whitespace!"
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(s):
counts={}
s=s.lower()
l=s.strip("").split(" ")
for i in l:
if i in counts:
counts[i]=counts[i]+1
else:
counts[i]=1
return counts

42,386 PointsHi Himanshu, the problem is that you have to split on all whitespace characters, not just the spaces. This is simply done by passing no arguments to the split()
function. You can read more about the function here: https://docs.python.org/3/library/stdtypes.html#str.split
l = s.split() # you don't need the strip
