Python Python Basics (2015) Letter Game App Even or Odd Loop

Code runs in my terminal and Quiz says it is incorrect: import random

  • I am able to get the output in my terminal for this quiz.
  • But in webpage quiz fails indicating task 1 is not working
  • Task one is just importing random which is fine.
  • Please help.
even.py
import random
def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
    # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
    return not num % 2
start = 5
while start:
    num = random.randint(1,99)
    if even_odd(num):
        print("{} is even").format(num)

Hi Pradeep,

There are a couple syntax issues with your code which is why it is not passing.

The first is that you aren't including the entire string format inside the print() function. Everything that you want printed must be contained inside the parentheses of print().

eg.

print("{} is even".format(num))

The second issue is that you have started an elif: statement with no conditions. Maybe you meant to use else instead?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ryan & Ted, My print statement syntax was wrong - Got confused with Python 2.7 and 3.0 used here. Also as you guys mentioned I should use else.
